WELCOME FROM THE
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES CHAIRS
Dear Poly friends,
While the last academic year presented us with new challenges, our community’s increased generosity and unwavering support proved that, indeed, we are stronger together.
Despite the challenges, we celebrated a fantastic year of milestones and accomplishments. Poly hosted its first springtime Poly Giving Day, heavily driven by volunteers and in celebration of the Poly community and its steadfast support of our students. Our students proudly performed musicals virtually and conducted global discussions with their peers from all over the world through the Global Initiatives Program. And the Poly Panthers had an unforgettable season, and made Poly history when they played at the Rose Bowl stadium for the first time.
Poly continues its commitment to foster an inclusive and equitable environment, hosting several reconciliation forums, welcoming its inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) director, and releasing a DEI Progress Report for 2020-2021. As we look forward, we are connecting our work across the school through professional learning, planned parent education efforts, and support for affinity groups that accompany our ongoing introspection. Unsurprisingly, these efforts sometimes create uncomfortable moments, but we believe that we can find a way to have these conversations, respect a diversity of viewpoints and identities, and grow together stronger as a community!
As we reflect on all that we have weathered and accomplished together, we, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, remain confident and more energized than ever before as we prepare for the beginning of another new calendar year. This new year will bring much growth and success to our faculty, our staff, and, most of all, our students.
With gratitude,
