In 1989, then-Poly parents Mr. and Mrs. Ryan purchased an irrevocable and unconditional life insurance policy for Mr. Ryan, naming Polytechnic School as the sole beneficiary, in celebration of the graduation of their daughter, Jennifer. Recently, Mr. Ryan made the meaningful decision to surrender the policy to the school during his lifetime. This allows Poly to begin planning for the gift's future use, while recognizing the family's philanthropy today.

 

Poly’s Office of Advancement inquired: What area of the school would he most like to support in perpetuity? Without hesitation, he selected student scholarships, directing the proceeds to establish an endowed scholarship in honor of his daughter, Jennifer Ryan Mills ’90.

 

Through this extraordinary act of generosity, Mr. Ryan ensures that Jennifer’s name and spirit will remain a part of Poly’s community forever, supporting students with financial need and making the transformative power of a Poly education accessible for years to come.
