The Julia Jia-Yin Li ’21 Creative Arts Award Fund

and The Julia Jia-Yin Li ’21 Art Gallery

We are honored to announce the establishment of The Julia Jia-Yin Li ’21 Creative Arts Award Fund and the naming of The Julia Jia-Yin Li ’21 Art Gallery, made possible through the generous leadership gift of the Li family. Created in loving memory of their daughter Julia, this endowed fund will both provide financial support to Upper School students pursuing passions in the arts and permanently name the Upper School art gallery in Julia’s honor—a fitting tribute to a gifted artist whose spirit continues to inspire the Poly community.

In the words of her father, Li Lu, “Julia was a bright, shooting star … a visionary artist” who embodied kindness, optimism, and the courage to live fully. The fund will annually support two students who are passionate about the arts and demonstrate financial need. Beginning in the 2025–26 school year, students will be invited to apply for up to $5,000 in support for creative programs, internships, or projects, with recipients selected by a faculty panel from the Visual and Performing Arts Departments.

“One of Julia’s gifts was her unique ability to see the humanity and talent in everyone she met,” John Bracker commented. “These grants will help us recognize and support our students’ artistic creativity by allowing them to explore their passions at some of the finest programs in the world.”

We are deeply grateful to the Li family for this transformative gift, which reflects Julia’s generous spirit and her enduring love of the arts. Through this award and the gallery that will now bear her name, Julia’s light will continue to shine in the lives of Poly students for generations to come.
